This 62 year old man had a fracture dislocation of his hip following a road traffic accident. He was referred to us two weeks later with a dislocated and fractured hip He underwent fixation of the fracure. The head was damaged and not viable after been dislocated for long. Hence he had a hip replacement as well These is a very complex surgery but he is back on his feet
On arrival, imaging revealed a severely dislocated hip with associated fracture. Due to the delay in treatment, the femoral head was non-viable and showed signs of damage.
We performed fixation of the fracture and, due to the compromised head of the femur, proceeded with a hip replacement during the same surgery. This complex procedure required precise alignment and implant positioning.
Post-surgery, the patient underwent structured rehabilitation. Within a short time, he regained mobility and is now back on his feet, walking comfortably.
The patient has recovered well following this highly complex procedure. He is now mobile and back to his regular activities, with restored hip function and no pain.
